Tuscany, home to olive groves, wineries and Italy’s top designer outlets, is the setting for the the most relaxing Shop Around Tour. Our Tuscany tour is based in the charming town of Montecatini Terme, one of Europe’s famed spa capitals. Montecatini was founded and developed around its most precious resource, its mineral-rich thermal waters, which have drawn travelers from around the globe since 1733.
Saturday, Day 1
Depart on our British Airways flights from New York's JFK Airport.
Sunday, Day 2
Upon arrival at the Pisa airport, we transfer to our hotel in Montecatini, the Grand Tamerici and Principe. (Click here to visit the hotel's website. All guests of Shop Around Tours will have Superior category "Prestige" rooms.) The balance of the day is at your leisure. This evening, we gather for our welcome dinner. (D)
Monday, Day 3
We begin our day at the Dolce & Gabbana outlet, followed by The Mall, featuring Gucci, Fendi, Giorgio Armani, Tods/Hogan, Yves Saint Laurent, La Perla, Valentino, Dior, Salvatore Ferragamo, Marni, Bottega Veneta, Loro Piana, Sergio Rossi, Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Balenciaga, Stella McCartney, Emilio Pucci, Diesel, Miss Sixty and Ermenegildo Zegna. En route back to our hotel, we'll stop off at a local market where you can stock up on snacks for the week as well as find tasty Italian treats to bring home. (B)
Tuesday, Day 4
A shop till we drop day! Today we visit the Barberino Designer Outlet, in the Valle della Sieve hills outside Florence. With over 100 stores ranging from luxury goods to moderate brands, as well as home products, cosmetics and lingerie, there's something for everyone at Barberino. You'll find a large Max Mara outlet - the only one in Tuscany - as well as Missoni, Les Copains, Pollini, Furla, Roberto Cavalli, Prada, Mariella Burani, Frette, Bric's, Lacoste, United Colors of Benetton, Ferre and many more. Wednesday, Day 5
We begin our day at the Prada outlet, where you'll find a wide array of merchandise from Prada and Miu Miu. We take a break from shopping at Castello di Verrazzano, in the heart of the Chianti region, where we'll enjoy a sumptuous lunch featuring local Tuscan specialties and free-flowing wine. This afternoon, we'll tour a leather factory that manufactures products for many famous designers. (B, L)
Thursday, Day 6
Today we are off to explore Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance. Our local guide will take us on a walking tour in the morning, where we’ll see the Duomo, capped by Brunelleschi’s famous dome and the Ponte Vecchio bridge, known for its jewelry stores. Your afternoon will be free to explore Florence’s shops, museums and restaurants. (B)
Friday, Day 7
Our final day is at your leisure. You can enjoy a spa treatment, browse the charming boutiques of Montecatini or explore another Tuscan town on your own. Tonight, we gather for our farewell dinner. (B, D)
Saturday, Day 8
Transfer to the airport for our flights back to New York. (B)
