Terms and Conditions
Superior First Class hotel accommodations including all taxes; breakfast daily, plus other meals as indicated on the itinerary; complete program as indicated on the itinerary, including transportation and admission to all sights of interest as indicated.
Airfare; items of a personal nature, such as incidental hotel expenses (including phone calls, room service, laundry); meals not indicated on the itinerary; drinks with group meals (other than as indicated on itinerary); expenses for any activities not included on the itinerary; gratuities to drivers, guides and restaurant staff; insurance; and of course, your shopping purchases!
A deposit of $400 per person is required at time of booking. Full payment by check or credit card is due no later than 60 days prior to departure. Checks can be mailed to Shop Around Tours Inc., 305 East 24th Street, Suite 2N, New York, NY 10010. Please note that deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
We strongly recommend travel insurance. To purchase insurance for your Shop Around Tour, please click here to visit Allianz for information about their plans and coverage.
Single rooms are available for a supplement. But if you’d prefer, we’ll try to match you up with another lone traveler. Be sure to check off the appropriate box on the registration form. Should a roommate not be found, you will be responsible for the single supplement.
Additional hotel nights:
Please contact us if you are interested in extending your stay in Europe. Pre or post-tour nights at our tour hotels can be requested and are subject to availability.
Approximately three weeks prior to departure, you will receive a travel information package including a detailed itinerary, tax refund information and luggage tags.
Cancellation & Refund Policy:
All cancellations must be made in writing. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Cancellations made 60-30 days from departure are subject to 50% of the program cost; under 30 days, payment is non-refundable.
Tour itineraries are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances such as inclement weather, transportation problems, or an unexpected business closure. We're also continually looking for ways to improve our tours. We may have discovered a special new place since the itinerary was published, that we'd like to share with you. However, since tours are planned far in advance, we reserve the right to change the tour due to circumstances beyond our control.
Cancellation by Shop Around Tours:
Though we do our best to avoid this, it may occasionally become necessary for Shop Around Tours to cancel a tour. We reserve the right to cancel a tour due to insufficient sign-up, or any other cause. If a tour is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified at least 60 days in advance. In this case, registered participants will receive a refund of all payment made to date. Refund of payments made constitutes full settlement, and releases Shop Around Tours from any further liability. Shop Around Tours is not responsible for any additional expenses incurred by tour participants preparing for a canceled tour, such as nonrefundable airline tickets or passport fees. If a tour is cancelled due to natural disaster, strike, or other event outside our control, Shop Around Tours shall not be held responsible; however, participants may elect to submit claims for reimbursement under any applicable insurance that participant may have.
The responsibility of Shop Around Tours its employees, affiliates, officers, directors, successors, agents and assigns (collectively Shop Around Tours) is strictly limited. As a tour operator, Shop Around Tours organizes, promotes, and sells tour tours consisting of certain travel services, including land and air transportation, sightseeing excursions, restaurant and hotel accommodations that Shop Around Tours purchases or reserves from various suppliers (collectively, “Suppliers”). Shop Around Tours acts only in the capacity of agent for hotels, restaurants, transportation companies, equipment suppliers, and other suppliers of services. Shop Around Tours does not own or operate any of these Suppliers. The Suppliers providing travel services for Shop Around Tours’s tour tours are independent contractors and are not agents or employees of Shop Around Tours. As a result, Shop Around Tours is not liable for any negligent or willful act or failure to act of any such person, or of any other third party. Tours include visits to shops or merchants. Shop Around Tours is not responsible for any purchases you make during your tour, whether that merchant is part of the scheduled itinerary or not. By utilizing the travel services of the Suppliers, you agree that you will look to such Suppliers for any accident, injury, property damage, or personal loss to you or to those traveling with you, and that neither Shop Around Tours nor any representative of Shop Around Tours shall be liable.
Without limitation, Shop Around Tours is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage to person or property, death, delay, or inconvenience in connection with the provision of, or failure to provide, any goods or services occasioned by or resulting from, but not limited to, acts of God or forces of nature, acts of war or civil unrest, insurrection or revolt, strikes or other labor activities, criminal or terrorist activities of any kind, overbooking or downgrading of accommodations, mechanical or other failure of airplanes or other means of transportation or for the failure of any transportation mechanism to arrive or depart on time, sanitation problems, lack of medical care, consumption of alcoholic beverages, risks associated with impure food or impure water dangers associated with animals or recreational activities, breakdown of equipment, high altitude, limited access to medical attention, and stolen, lost or misplaced luggage or property, or for any other cause beyond the direct control of Shop Around Tours. To the extent that Shop Around Tours is involved in booking air transportation for you, Shop Around Tours acts as your agent and not as an agent of the air carrier. For all other purposes, Shop Around Tours does not act as an agent for any party whatsoever.
Travel has its own inherent risks, and the participant acknowledges such risks exist, up to and including death. Shop Around Tours will take all reasonable precautions to insure the health and safety of the participant. The participant agrees to hold Shop Around Tours, its employees and agents harmless should illness, accident or death occur. Shop Around Tours is not responsible for the actions, expenses or harm incurred by participants who disregard the instructions of the Shop Around Tours representative(s), participants who depart from the planned activities of the tour, or participants who follow the instructions of a non- Shop Around Tours representative(s).
Shop Around Tours reserves the unilateral right to accept or reject any person as a tour participant at any time. A tour participant may be restrained from further participation if, in Shop Around Tours’s sole judgment, the individual's actions impede the operation of the tour, pose a threat to the welfare or enjoyment of any group participant, or are unsuitable for group travel. Participants agree to follow all rules of safety and conduct presented by Shop Around Tours. In the event that a participant is removed from a tour, Shop Around Tours will not refund any monies. Transportation costs to return home, airline penalties, and any other expenses will be the responsibility of the participant. In the event that a participant voluntarily chooses to leave a tour, Shop Around Tours will require a written, signed statement of the participant’s intent to depart from the tour. In the event that a participant voluntarily departs from a tour, Shop Around Tours will not refund any monies. Transportation costs to return home, airline penalties, and any other expenses will be the responsibility of the participant.
